Commemorating Waitangi Day Fund

The Commemorating Waitangi Day Fund supports events that commemorate the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi, and promote nation and community building. The fund aims to encourage a wider mix of communities to take part in Waitangi Day events.

New Zealand History Research Trust

The New Zealand History Research Trust Fund supports historians, researchers and writers working on non-fiction projects that will significantly enhance our understanding of New Zealand's past.

Ngā Kōrero Tuku Iho, Piki Ake! Kake Ake!, New Zealand Oral History Awards

The Ngā Kōrero Tuku Iho, Piki Ake! Kake Ake!, New Zealand Oral History Awards provide financial help for projects using oral resources relating to the history of New Zealand and New Zealand's close connections with the Pacific.

Additional Ministry funding

Other Ministry funding includes the Regional Culture and Heritage Fund (which replaced the Regional Museums Policy for Capital Construction Project in 2016).

The Ministry's Arts and Culture COVID Recovery Programme announced in 2020 includes more than 25 initiatives designed to deliver short-term relief as well as longer-term support for the sector.
