Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern announced the selected design for the National Erebus Memorial, entry 001 Te Paerangi Ataata - Sky Song, on 5 April 2019.

The design was prepared by Studio Pacific Architecture - well-recognised architects with a long background of memorial and cultural projects. Jason O’Hara is an artist, photographer and designer with multiple Antarctic projects underway. Warren Maxwell is an artist with soundscape experience, much based on his Antarctic visits.

Studio Pacific Architecture will now commence work on the developed design for the Memorial followed by detailed design and the commencement of construction in late 2019.
