The Commemorating Waitangi Day Fund supports events that commemorate the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi, and promote nation and community building. The fund aims to encourage a wider mix of communities to take part in Waitangi Day events.
The New Zealand History Research Trust Fund supports historians, researchers and writers working on non-fiction projects that will significantly enhance our understanding of New Zealand's past.
The Ngā Kōrero Tuku Iho, New Zealand Oral History Awards; Pike Ake! Kake Ake! provide financial help for projects using oral resources relating to the history of New Zealand and New Zealand's close connections with the Pacific.
Additional Ministry funding
Other Ministry awards are Heritage EQUIP (which provides funding for strengthening earthquake-prone heritage buildings) and the Regional Culture and Heritage Fund (which replaced the Regional Museums Policy for Capital Construction Project in 2016).
