Seven Lower North Island non-for-profit organisations will soon be watching digital TV after winning a Going Digital competition.
Upper Hutt Baptist Church, Pomare Community House in Lower Hutt, the Arlington City Community room in Wellington, YWCA of Whanganui, Hanson Court Community Centre in Wellington, Gladstone School in Masterton and Wainuiomata Community Centre have all won the necessary equipment and installation required to make their existing TV go digital.
Greg Harford, Going Digital National Manager said the competition was established to help non-for-profit organisations in the community that used a TV but may not have had the funds to buy the equipment to go digital.
Organisations entered into the competition by submitting their organisation’s contact details and explained in 50 words or less why they needed help to go digital.
Previous winners include the Hastings Hearing Association, CCS Disability Otago, Brook Waimarama Sanctuary in Nelson and the Paparoa Range School on the West Coast.
The competition is still open to organisations in the Upper North Island. Entries close for them on May 24.
